About the show

About Asymptote.

A short read on what the show is and the person behind it.

01

What it is

One guest per episode, around ninety minutes, no script — the kind of conversation that usually only happens off-mic, after the room clears.

02

What it isn’t

Not a news show, not a take show, and not a press tour. The host has her own views on what her guests are working on, and says them.

03

The record

Episodes build on each other over time. Predictions made on earlier ones get checked against what actually happened on later ones.

Vanishree Rao

Vanishree Rao

Vanishree Rao holds a PhD in cryptography from UCLA and is the CEO and Founder of Fermah.

Her work at Fermah powers cryptographic infrastructure used by paying customers across several industries, and she’s published in the top-tier cryptography conferences over the past decade.

She talks to her guests as a technical peer, not as a journalist on the outside looking in. Asymptote is where those conversations happen.
